Radio Revenue Up 7%

Radio industry revenues were up in February by 7% from a year ago, said the Radio Advertising Bureau. Local revenues rose more strongly than national revenues during the month. The Radio Advertising Bureau calculates an advertising index for the industry based on 1998 figures, which are given a value of 100. The local sales index for February was 139.8, while the national sales index stood at 138.9. For the full year so far, the local sales index is 139.5, the national index stands at 143.5. The accounting firm of Miller, Kaplan, Arase & Co. provided the figures based on data from over 150 markets.
