TV Ratings Slip for NFL Playoffs

Three of the four NFL divisional playoff games drew lower ratings than from a year ago.

Fox had a 14.3 rating and 33 share for Saturday's early game, New Orleans at Minnesota. That was down 18 percent from last year when the network had a 17.4 rating and 34 share for the Saturday late game, Washington at Tampa Bay. On Sunday, Fox got a 20.6 rating and 36 share for the late game, Philadelphia at the New York Giants, a drop of 3 percent from last year's 21.2 rating and 43 share for the early Sunday game between Minnesota and St. Louis.

The late game Saturday between Miami and Oakland produced a 15 rating and 30 share for CBS, an increase of 6 percent from the 14.2 rating and 33 share produced by Miami and Jacksonville in last year's early game. Sunday's early game on CBS between Baltimore and Tennessee produced an 18.8 rating and 39 share, down from the 20.4 rating and 36 share that the Tennessee-Indianapolis late game produced last year.
