Colgate To Up Ad Spending

Colgate-Palmolive says it will step up ad spend this year, reports FT. Ian Cook, chief executive, promised “increased advertising support behind many new and existing Colgate products” in 2012. The company said it had boosted advertising spending in the fourth quarter by 5% from a year ago to $428 million. Spending also rose as a percentage of sales. C-P also said that volatility in the currency markets would be a challenge this year.
