The Knicks are launching a free mobile application for fans that will, per the NBA team, integrate the Knicks online community platform KnicksNow.com

The Knicks mobile app will have live scores, in-game statistics, player bios, schedule and ticket purchase links. It will also have such KnicksNow content as one-on-one player interviews, links to game highlights, photo galleries, and official team Facebook and Twitter feeds. New features will be added in the coming months, as well as a version designed specifically for the iPad, per the organization.

The new Knicks mobile app is available for iPhone and Android and has a text to download option.

The team says that in the last year, it has nearly quadrupled its number of "likes" on Facebook -- reaching more than 1.4 million "likes," -- and followers on Twitter have increased 15-fold, topping 183,000 followers. Also, traffic on NYKnicks.com and KnicksNow.com is up more than 84% year-over-year, per the team.
