Media shop Initiative, a unit of IPG Mediabrands, has hired Matthew Meeks as vice president, director of Prophesee, Initiative’s social media marketing unit. Meeks will be based out of the agency’s Los Angeles office and report to Jason Deal, executive vice president, director digital and head of Prophesee. Meeks will be responsible for the daily account management operations including social media marketing, monitoring and community management services provided to clients.
He joins Initiative from Warner Bros. where he served as director of audience development, worldwide television marketing spearheading the company’s social media activities for the studio’s current TV programming. Prior to Warner Bros., Meeks worked in public relations for technology start-up companies, co-founded a marketing consultancy and launched B/HI Buzz, the social media and digital marketing division of Bender/Helper Impact Marketing Communications.
