Washington, D.C.-area Lexus dealers are dangling a Lexus sports sedan as the grand prize in a promotion at a Capitals hockey game at Verizon Center in D.C. The two-year lease is on a new 2013 Lexus GS 350.
The three winners of qualifying rounds in the Lexus GS Slapshot Challenge will go to the center of the ice during the second intermission of the Capitals game on March 27 to test their aim at a partially blocked-off goal. Each contestant will get shots on goal, and whoever outscores the others will enjoy two years in the redesigned GS 350 sport sedan.
Hockey fans were able to enter the competition on the Capitals Web site or in ballot boxes on the Lexus Suite Level at the Verizon Center. Six fans were chosen for one-on-one qualifying rounds on Feb. 28, March 8, and March 23. The three winners of those shootouts will compete for the big prize on March 27. Runners-up in the competitions receive autographed Capitals hockey gear.
