MediaPost has been receiving queries from people saying they’ve been contacted by someone using the name Sharon Butler and claiming to be an employee of MediaPost, and making various offers and requesting potentially confidential information. No one by that name is affiliated with MediaPost, and the email she is using, Sharon@mediapostpublication.com (without an S) appears to be associated with a domain that several watchdog sites indicate may be a fake “scam” site. Butler did not return a call placed by MediaPost’s editors.
