  • April 20, 2012

Google Inc's YouTube and similar online music and video services may face a big royalties bill in Germany after a court ruled in favor of copyright owners in a landmark case, reports Reuters. The court said the site was responsible for the content its users published and forced it to take down copyrighted clips. The suit in Hamburg, Germany, was for allegedly infringing the copyright on seven music clips. Separately, a U.S. court revived a lawsuit from Viacom against Google over copyrighted videos aired on YouTube without permission.
