AP Bows HD Video Hub For Local Broadcasters

  • July 19, 2012

The Associated Press on Thursday launched a new Web video hub for local broadcasters called AP Video-US, a daily selection of the day’s top news and other interesting videos picked by the AP’s editorial department. All content will be delivered in HD and will be rights-cleared for usage across platforms. Stories could be regional, national or international, and could cover everything from entertainment to lifestyle news.

The AP says the new video hub is a response to local broadcasters’ need for footage that can be prepared quickly for on-air and digital use, reducing production time.

“AP Video-US is the result of extensive conversations and research with leading local broadcast groups and represents AP’s expanding commitment to local television,” said Dave Gwizdowski, vice president for AP Broadcast Markets. “Video is now part of our basic and core service. This is a great opportunity for us to showcase AP’s award-winning journalism in a way that greatly benefits our local television members.”
