T-Mobile Touts Towers

  • July 19, 2012

T-Mobile is moving from merely touting the speed of its network to showing off its strength.

In a new ad, the company’s newly leather-clad spokeswoman rides her motorcycle past numerous cellphone towers while reciting a rhyme, “One, two … Kalamazoo,” counting higher and higher (“1,008, 1,009.. Dallas, Denver, Anaheim”). The spot ends with a graphic illustrating the carrier has more than 35,000 cell towers across the country.

“Speed is only part of the puzzle,” wrote Peter DeLuca, T-Mobile’s senior vice president of brand and advertising, in a blog post. “Our latest ad highlights the breadth of our nationwide 4G coverage as Carly zooms past some of our more than 35,000 cell towers across the country. Footage captured from the Puget Sound to Miami and more is symbolic of our nationwide coverage. Today, T-Mobile’s 4G network reaches well over 220 million people in 229 markets.”
