Mobile ad network Jumptap has named former Yahoo executive Frank Weishaupt as its first COO.
The move comes just a few weeks after Jumptap announced closing $27.5 million in new funding as
it prepares to go public in the next year. Weishaupt most recently served as SVP of sales and publisher marketplace at Criteo, a retargeting firm that works with Internet retailers.
Prior to joining Criteo, Weishaupt spent 10 years at Yahoo, holding senior operating roles including vice president of advertising marketplaces. In that role, Weishaupt oversaw the monetization
strategy for North America’s search, display and platform businesses. He was also the lead on several advertising technology acquisitions at Yahoo including the purchase of display ad startup
Dapper.
In addition, Jumptap named veteran mobile entrepreneur and investor John Hadl to its board. Hadl is currently a venture partner at US Venture Partners. He is also the founder of BrandinHand, an early mobile-specific agency whose clients included P&G, Coca-Cola, American Express and General Mills.
Bell said earlier this month that revenue at Jumptap, which has raised about $121 million to date, increased 60% last year.
