Netflix Hires CMO

Netflix has hired former Warner Bros. marketing executive Kelly Bennett as its new chief marketing officer, reporting to CEO Reed Hastings.

Bennett is a nine-year veteran of the studio, and was most recently vice president of interactive, worldwide marketing, where he led online campaigns for movie franchises such as Harry Potter, Sherlock Holmes and the Dark Knight.

“Kelly has been a pioneer in developing incredible digital campaigns for some of the biggest box office hits in recent years,” Hastings said in a statement. “We are delighted Kelly is bringing creative and marketing expertise to Netflix as our streaming business becomes increasingly global and our focus intensifies on commissioning high-quality original programming for our more than 26 million members.”
