InMobi Buys App Distributor Metaflow Systems

Mobile ad network InMobi on Tuesday announced acquiring Metaflow Solutions, which makes mobile content management software used by developers, publishers and others to streamline the distribution of apps and other content across devices. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The move follows on the heels of InMobi's purchase of MMTG Labs, which provides a white-label service for creating branded app stores and further enhances the company's offerings for developers.

InMobi CEO Naveen Tewari, founder and CEO of InMobi, stated the acquisition of Metaflow Solutions will help us to "rapidly expand the distribution and monetization of content for our developers and publisher partners."

Metaflow's services include a Web-based system allowing developers to upload apps and games for distribution through mobile operators, mobile portals and app storefronts and other channels, automating the submissions process. This includes targeting top mobile devices for each outlet. It supplies content management tools for developers and brands, and a B2B marketplace for digital content.

U.K.-based Metaflow's partners include EA Mobile, Glu Mobile, Fox Mobile, and French telecom company Orange.

Under their agreement, the eight-person Metaflow team led by CEO Charles McLeod will relocate to InMobi's London office. Commenting on the deal, he said InMobi provides "app developers with even greater opportunities to acquire millions of users and monetize their exciting apps."

InMobi, which has expanded its presence in the U.S. in the last two years, says its mobile ad network now reaches 578 million people across 165 countries. It also serves 93 billion impressions worldwide monthly.
