Hertz Launches Online Music Store

Hertz-Music-B

Hertz Corp. is launching an online music store that will allow its gold plus rewards loyalty club members to receive free music downloads with every rental.

The Park Ridge, N.J.-based company said the Web site, at www.hertzmusicstore.com, will be live in mid-August.

The store will feature thousands of artists, both old and and new.

To launch the site, Hertz will offer three free song downloads per rental to Hertz gold plus rewards members who rent a car through Aug. 31. To receive the three free download offer, members must opt in to receive email promotions from Hertz. At the end of the month, members will receive an email detailing how to redeem the free songs.

"The connection between the open road and great music runs deep," said Mark P. Frissora, Hertz chairman and chief executive officer, in a release. "With the Hertz Music Store, loyal Hertz customers will have a new way to download, for free, the music they love, making their travel experiences even more enjoyable."

The Music Store is the second initiative in the Hertz' Movin' with Music Program. Earlier this summer, Hertz and LiveNation worked together for the "Best Seats Sweepstakes" and later this year, Hertz plans to introduce Hertz Live Radio, which will launch with three stations: The Merge, a top 40 station; Route66, featuring classic rock; and Open Road, which will feature modern country music.

The music perks are the latest in a series of technologically innovative products and services available that Hertz is offering with the aim of providing the fastest, easiest and most valued rental experience.

This includes Hertz 'Carfirmations', a mobile SMS text and email service that confirms a gold member's reservation and advises them of their car and location prior to arrival at the Hertz facility and gold choice, which gives gold members the ability to keep the car they reserved or simply choose a different car from the gold choice area.
