The Mobile Marketing Association on Monday named its 2012 global board executive committee, expanding the size of the body from five to eight members and adding executives from Facebook, Pandora and Velti. The new executive committee elected by the MMA global board is:
Chair: Cameron Clayton, President, Digital, The Weather Channel
Vice Chair: Paul Palmieri, Co-Founder, President & CEO, Millennial Media
Secretary: Jack Philbin, Co-Founder, President & CEO, Vibes Media
Member at Large: Alex Moukas, CEO, Velti
Member at Large: Joe Kennedy, CEO & President, Pandora
Member at Large: Carolyn Everson, VP Global Marketing Solutions, Facebook
Chair Emeritus: Melis Ertem, Consumer Product Marketing Division Head, Turkcell
MMA President: Greg Stuart, President & Global CEO
The inclusion of Facebook and Pandora on the trade group’s executive committee underscores the growing shift of both companies’ businesses toward mobile as more and more users access their services on devices. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently said mobile was the company’s key focus and that over time mobile will generate more revenue (per time spent) than its desktop presence.
In a similar vein, mobile now accounts for about three-quarters of Pandora’s traffic, with the online radio service focused on ramping up mobile ad revenue to match the audience growth. Both Pandora and Facebook joined the executive committee through the addition of at-large board members for the first time.
