'Anger Management' Inks Syndie Deal With Fox

AngerManagementThe Charlie Sheen-starring sitcom “Anger Management,” which recently received an order for an additional 90 episodes, will move to syndication in the fall of 2014. Original episodes of the Lionsgate-produced show will continue to air on FX.

Fox has become the first station group to ink a deal for "Anger" broadcast syndication rights covering nine markets.

FX will retain cable syndication rights. The series debuted over the summer on FX with 10 episodes and the network exercised a trigger that called for production of 90 more.

The Fox station group’s arrangement allows for 14 runs a week, twice a day. The deal covers markets where it has both a Fox and MyNetworkTV station, and it is possible it will air one episode a day on each. The markets include New York, Los Angeles and Chicago.

Debmar-Mercury, the syndication arm of Lionsgate, is selling the show to other station groups looking to cover the full country.

Sheen is already a syndication staple in re-runs of “Two and a Half Men.” The Fox stations have also made syndication deals to air coveted sitcoms “Big Bang Theory” and “Modern Family.”
