Feds May Relax Cross-Ownership Policies

Federal regulators are expected to relax ownership restrictions on major-market media outlets, which could help major payers in the struggling newspaper industry, reports the Los Angeles Times. Despite past failed attempts to loosen restrictions, the FCC is expected to approve a new proposal at year's end that permits newspapers and television or radio stations in the 20 largest markets to consolidate.
