Shop.org says those who shopped on Cyber Monday spent an average of $194.46 online, with 31% of them buying apparel. (By comparison, the average online shopper spent somewhat less, $172.42, when shopping on Thanksgiving, a few days earlier.) CDs, DVDs, videos or video games were chosen by 30%, followed by electronics (25%), toys (18%), and personal care or beauty items (12%). The group estimates 129 million Americans shopped that day.

Interestingly, those same clothes will be marked down by even more once Christmas is over. Electronics and appliances typically offer the best buys on Black Friday and Cyber Monday; they aren't seasonal items that will be marked down as much following the holidays, meaning consumers would be advantaged to act on such deals.
