A+E Launches TV Everywhere iPad Apps For Its Three Networks

Duck-Dynasty-AA+E Networks boards the video everywhere bandwagon in a big way this month by launching major aps for A&E, History and Lifetime cable networks. Each free app is available for the iPad in the Apple App Store. Authenticated cable subscribers will get access to a deep trove of series programming, including full episodes of Storage Wars, Duck Dynasty, Pawn Stars, Dance Moms, Project Runway and more.

Much like the HBO Go app, these apps give users access to full seasons of the programs. In a special promotion with Comcast, however, Xfinity subscribers who sign in will get additional exclusive content related to the shows. The A+E Networks content also will be available to Xfinity subscribers at Xfinity.com/TV.

App developer Bottle Rocket created the app. It includes Watchlists for queuing programs as well as a “Continue Watching” feature that tracks and features the shows viewers have paused and left incomplete in previous sessions.

iPhone/iPod Touch versions of the three network apps are scheduled to release in January 2013. Android versions are expected in Q1 2013.
