TimeOut Chicago: 7 Tribune Newspapers Drop AP

The Chicago Tribune and six other newspapers owned by Tribune Co., including The Baltimore Sun and Orlando Sentinel, are dropping Associated Press, effective in early January. However, the Los Angeles Times will retain its AP membership. AP is a not-for-profit cooperative, owned by its member newspapers. It has a 2,300 reporters gathering news in 100 countries.
