Jamba Launches Kids Meal With NYC Parade

West Coast-based Smoothie chain Jamba Juice recently promoted the launch of its first kids' meal, Jamba Kids, with a parade in New York City.

The parade, which followed a circuitous route from Times Square to Jamba's store at Fifth Ave. and 23rd St., featured the chain's "Banana Man" character, a dozen smaller "bananas" and "Strawberry Girl."

After the parade, the store hosted a kids’ fun/fitness zone, with mini-basketball and a Banana Man-led “Fruit Smoothie Dance,” as well as a kids’ nutrition press panel featuring Olympic gold medalist/"celebrity mom" Summer Sanders,Jamba Juice CMO Julie Washington and Jamba Healthy Living Council member and weight control expert Elizabeth Ward.

Prior to the parade, Jamba Juice CEO James White rang the NASDAQopening bell, and Olympian and former WNBAplayer and coach Teresa Edwards led a fitness workout as Jamba Juice donated physical-education equipment to four Harlem grade schools (part of Jamba’s “Team Up for a Healthy America”CSRprogram).

The events were produced by Santa Monica, Calif.-based advertising agency Neighbor.
