Elevate Partners With Media Ventures

Elevate-A2Elevate Digital has partnered with Media Ventures Group with an eye to expanding its network of street-level interactive digital displays throughout the U.S., the companies announced Monday.

Under the terms of the partnership, Elevate Digital will draw on Media Ventures Group’s expertise in out-of-home advertising, existing client and agency relationships, channel partnerships with media owners, licensing agreements, and deals with municipalities.

The first focus of the partnership will be expanding the network in Chicago, where Elevate already operates a number of interactive displays, providing users with free access to a variety of information and services.

As part of the deal Media Ventures chairman Bill Apfelbaum is joining Elevate’s board of directors.

The New Year has brought a burst of activity to Chicago’s digital out-of-home marketplace. Last week, JCDecaux SA announced that it won a new 20-year contract with the city in a joint venture with Interstate Outdoor Advertising and its sister company, Foster Interstate. The contract calls for JCDecaux and its partners to build and operate 34 large digital billboards and 60 LED display panels along Chicago’s busy expressways.

The global outdoor advertising company says the contract will generate around $700 million in advertising revenues over this period, making it one of the biggest municipal outdoor ad programs in the U.S. The company claims that the Chicago City Digital Network, as it is known, will be the first public-private partnership formed to build out a digital out-of-home network on public land.
