Virgin America is the first airline–to partner with IFC for a multplatform integrated partnership around "Portlandia." The partnership includes an airport tarmac event, Facebook competition,
sweepstakes that awards a walk-on role in the current season of "Portlandia" and in-show integration. The deal promotes Virgin America’s nonstop service between Los Angeles and San
Francisco to Portland, Oregon. The comedy series will also air onbaord the airlines in-flight entertainment system.
