PubMatic Eyes Singapore Market, Appoints Jonas Overseas

Sales-side platform PubMatic this week announced the appointment of Rob Jonas as VP and managing director for EMEA and APAC. In his new role, Jonas will be responsible for the continued expansion of PubMatic's Strategic Selling Platform. According to Kirk McDonald, president, PubMatic, Jonas' short-term focus will be to double efforts in places where PubMatic already has a presence, such as Germany and France. It's not set in stone, but McDonald said that Singapore could also become a place of interest.

Citing an IDC projection that says programmatic ad spending will reach $13.9 billion in 2016, McDonald said, "[RTB] is not a cycle, it's a change in the industry."

In an earlier statement, McDonald said, "As programmatic buying grows and PubMatic continues to expand, having an international managing director with Rob’s level of experience at selling ad platforms for media and technology companies is an undeniable asset."

McDonald expressed confidence in Jonas, saying that he is the right person to oversee PubMatic's RTB growth internationally. Jonas is no stranger to international markters, as he has previously worked at InMobi as VP and managing director, EMEA; Google as director, strategic partnerships in EMEA; and Yahoo! Europe. Jonas will officially join PubMatic in mid-March and will work from the company's London offices.
