Guardian Claims Record For Online January Figures

It has claimed record digital figures for January of 77.9 million monthly unique users. The newspaper has released the figures as part of the latest ABC Digital update, with the record numbers generated by reports on the US fiscal cliff, the Golden Globes and coverage of the crisis in Mali, which led to the publisher beating its previous record of 71.8 million unique users which it set in October 2012. The record figure for January is an increase of 23% year-on-year.
