Digital video recorder pioneer TiVo Thursday reported a surge in subscribes, but wider losses during its second fiscal quarter ended July 31. TiVo said it added about 288,000 total subscriptions
during the quarter, bringing its total installed base to 1.9 million subscribers. While revenues rose 77 percent to $24.3 million, TiVo's net loss grew to $10.8 million vs. $4.4 million during the
second fiscal quarter of 2003. Separately, TiVo reaffirmed its plans to double its subscription base during fiscal 2004 to a total of 3 million subscribers.
