Media General Launches Advanced Digital Solutions

Media General has launched a new marketing and advertising service called Advanced Digital Solutions, the media company announced Monday, allowing advertising clients to target consumers based on a variety of factors, including geography, content, behavior, income and device.

Through a network of partner agencies, the ADS platform gives advertising clients access to premium ad inventory across various channels including display, mobile, video, email and search engine marketing. Media General Vice President For Digital Media Andy Lobred added that ADS allows advertisers to deliver ads to any market across the U.S., including “outside our traditional geographic boundaries."

Earlier this year, Media General implemented a new content management system for its portfolio of Web sites and mobile channels from WorldNow, which is also providing national advertising sales support.

All 18 of Media General's broadcast TV station Web sites are expected to be using the content management system by the end of the first quarter.

Media General is not the only media company introducing new online platforms. In January, Cox announced that its newspaper publishing division has partnered with Adpay to create a new classifieds platform serving over 4 million print and online readers in a number of markets.

The new platform -- which offers classifieds advertisers premium features, including “Top Ads,” “Featured Ads,” “Route Mapping” and “Aggregated Search” -- will be deployed at Cox newspapers, including The Atlanta Journal Constitution, The Palm Beach Post, The Palm Beach Daily News, The Austin American-Statesman and The Dayton Daily News.
