Scripps Net Chief Exits Fine Living

After three years at the helm of lifestyle media network and Web site Fine Living, Ken Solomon has resigned his post as president to "pursue new entrepreneurial opportunities," a network spokesman said.

As the network prepares to consider a new president, John MacDonald, senior vice president of business operations and acquisitions, has been named acting general manager of Fine Living. MacDonald will work closely with Charles Segars, senior vice president of programming and network strategy, and the entire network team, said John Lansing, vice president of Scripps Networks, the company that oversees Fine Living as well as Home & Garden Television, Food Network, DIY-Do It Yourself Network, and Shop At Home Network.

In the two years since Fine Living was launched as a network and Web site, it quickly grew to attract 23 million, Lansing noted in a statement. "Fine Living has achieved significant success in programming, distribution, and advertising sales in a very short period of time," Lansing said. "Ken is leaving us in excellent shape with a great management team in place providing a strong foundation for future growth."

Earlier, Solomon held several senior management positions with major studios, including Universal Studios/Studios USA Television, DreamWorks TV, and the Fox Broadcasting Network.
