MotoGP Races On Fox Sports

MotoGP-Media-AA motorcycle racing series, which is a longtime part of the Speed channel lineup, will migrate to the network’s successor in August. A MotoGP event will air as an early event on Fox Sports 1, the new 24/7 sports channel taking over Speed’s distribution.

The arrangement is part of a deal with Dorna Sports, which owns rights to the MotoGP World Championship, and brings events to Fox Sports 1 through 2015.

After events on Speed, a Red Bull-sponsored event will air Aug. 18 on Fox Sports 1. MotoGP events and those held by its predecessor have been on Speed since 1997.

Dorna executive Manel Arroyo stated that the company is “looking forward to being part of this huge project that is Fox Sports 1."

FS1, which will be in 90 million homes, has plans to air NASCAR, UFC, and Big East as well as Major League Baseball.

There will be three MotoGP events in the U.S. this year. Events on Speed begin April 7. Two other Red Bull-backed events are scheduled for Speed as well.
