Werner Co., which annually gets prime exposure as players and coaches climb its ladders to cut down March Madness nets, will continue to back a “Coaching Spotlight” segment on the CBS
Sports Network.
The 9-inch ladders Werner builds specifically for the annual tournament include details such as a HolsterTop with a magnetic strip to secure the scissors for the net-cutting
for both the men’s and women’s tournaments.

has also sponsored a “bracket challenge” this month on ESPN’s “Mike & Mike In The Morning” radio show, which is simulcast on ESPN2.
This year, Werner has a
custom ladder to plug the 75th anniversary of the Final Four, which will continue to have a presence on the CBS sports outlet.
Net-cutting at the NCAA started in 1947 with North Carolina
State and its coach Everett Case, Werner said.
Werner’s promotions this year also include a sweepstakes with a replica ladder as a prize.
Werner’s Web site features a
shot of Kentucky coach John Calipari waving with the net being cut down as his team won the tournament last year.
