TV's Easter Sunday Jumps Ball: NCAA, 'Dead' And 'The Bible'

Basketball, zombies, and the Bible were the big TV topics for viewers on Sunday.

CBS' NCAA's Men's Basketball Tournament posted a Nielsen preliminary 15.66 million total viewers in prime time and a 4.2 rating/13 share among 18-49 viewers for the 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. hour.

Two cable networks earned some high marks against the broadcasters on the night -- posting the second- and third-best total average viewing results. Airings in the 9 p.m. time slots, AMC's Season Three hour-long finale of "The Walking Dead" pulled in 12.4 million viewers and A&E's final installment of its mini-series, a two-hour episode of "The Bible" reached 11.7 million.

In the 8 p.m. hour, a combination of CBS's "60 Minutes" and "The Amazing Race" took in a 2.4/7 and 10.5 million viewers.

CBS ended the night with an average 2.5/7 among 18-49 viewers (10.7 million total viewers). NBC scored a 1.3/3 (4.6 million total viewers); Fox earned a 1.1/3 (2.5 million viewers); ABC took in a 0.9/2 (3.6 million); and Univision, 0.8/2 (2.2 million). Broadcasters ran mostly reruns early in the evening

In the 9 p.m. time slot, a combination of CBS's "The Amazing Race" and "The Good Wife" got to a 1.9/5, winning the time period. ABC's "Revenge" tied a repeat of NBC's "The Voice" with a 1.5/3.

At 10 p.m., NBC's "All-Star Celebrity Apprentice" got to a 1.4/4, besting all the broadcasters. A combination of repeats from CBS's "The Good Wife" and "The Mentalist" took in a 1.3/3; and ABC's midseason "Red Widow" had a 1.0/3.
