How Much Time Consumers Spend In Apps, Search

U.S. consumers spend an average of 2 hours and 38 minutes per day on smartphones and tablets, with 80% of that time in apps and 20% on the mobile Web, according to Flurry. The study finds that all mobile browsers combined, which are considered a category of apps, command 20% of the consumers' time. Gaming apps remain the largest category of all, with 32% of time spent. Facebook is No. 2 with 18%, and Safari takes No. 3 with 12%. Why do marketers need to know? Search doesn't only live in engines like Google and Bing. Read the article here.
