A new mental health magazine focused on bipolar disorder launched Wednesday. The first issue of bp Magazine was distributed at the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill Annual Convention yesterday in Washington, D.C.

The digest-sized magazine, published by Buffalo, New York-based Green Apple Courage Inc., will be distributed through medical professionals and consumer mental health organizations four times a year at an initial rate base of 50,000.

bp's editorial will included first-person success stories and articles covering stress management, relationships, exercise and diet, workplace issues, and parenting children with the disorder. According to Green Apple Courage, roughly 2.5 million adults and one million children suffer from bipolar disorder.
