Nike Celebrates LeBron's Fourth MVP Award

  • May 7, 2013

Well, that didn’t take long: Nike says that it is celebrating NBA star LeBron James’s historic fourth MVP award with a special edition LEBRON X MVP shoe, as well as a new “Witness History” campaign. (James’ recent win means he is now only the second player to win four MVP titles in five years, in the award’s 58-year history.) The uber-colorful shoe is a mash-up, melding turquoise, purple, fuchsia, red, peacock, and yellow. The idea is that it fuses “the unique colorways and designs of each style in the LEBRON X series, which James debuted in August 2012,” Nike says in its release. With an “MVP” on the tongue of the shoe, it’s meant to tell James’ story for this season, including the Miami Heat’s 27-game winning streak.
