Miller64 Partners With Former Pro Athletes

Miller64 is launching "GO64," a summer-long initiative that will include local events, celebrity appearances, giveaways and social media.

The program officially kicks off June 4, and consumers in Boston, Chicago, Houston, Las Vegas and Tampa are invited to "GO64" celebrity-hosted events. The special events will feature meet-and-greets with the Miller64 celebrity ambassadors, live music, games, giveaways and sampling (where legal).

The cities and corresponding celebrities are as follows:

  • Las Vegas: 3-7 p.m. PDT at the Fashion Show; former pro basketball defensive star and current ESPN analyst Bruce Bowen will be there from 3-6 p.m.

  • Houston: 4-8 p.m. CDT at Ruggles Green; Robert Horry, one of pro basketball's all-time big-shot players, will be on-site from 4:30-7:30 p.m.

  • Tampa Bay: 11 a.m.-3 p.m. EDT at Lykes Gaslight Square Park; former pro football fullback and six-time all-star Mike Alstott will host from 1 a.m.-1 p.m.

  • Chicago: 11 a.m.-3 p.m. CDT at Chicago Tribune Tower Plaza; former pro basketball point guard and member of three Chicago championship teams B.J. Armstrong will be there from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

  • Boston: 11 a.m.-3 p.m. EDT at MIJA Cantina & Tequila Bar at Faneuil Hall Marketplace; former baseball great and current ESPN analyst Nomar Garciaparra will join the festivities from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Along with the kickoff events, Miller64 will sponsor a web series from production and distribution company DBG called "The Sub." It debuts June 4 on select men's lifestyle and sportsWweb sites within DBG's digital portfolio, as well as on FSN TV beginning in July. The show will chronicle what happens when recreational sports teams are surprised with former professional athletes being placed on their roster. Fans can look forward to seeing such stars as Terrell Owens, Jennifer Kessy, Brandi Chastain, David Justice and Gary Payton showcasing their talents.

"Miller64 is the refreshing beer that makes it easy to live a truly balanced and active lifestyle," said Elaine Obergfell, Miller64 marketing manager, in a release. "We're launching GO64 to celebrate like-minded beer drinkers on our favorite day of the year, 6/4. We hope it reminds them to go out and go play this summer and, of course, to reward themselves with a light, crisp Miller64 afterwards."
