NBC Gives 'Voice' To Tuesday, ABC 'Dancing' Into Second Place

Dancing-with-the-Stars-ATwo nights left of the TV season and NBC scored a Tuesday night win.

Its big show, "The Voice" at 9 p.m., was down 11% to land at a 3.1/9 -- the best-rated show of the night. Earlier in the evening, NBC offered a TV news program -- "NBC News Special: Devastation in Oklahoma" -- reaching a 2.0/6, the top-rated program in the 8 p.m. hour.

For the night, NBC averaged a Nielsen 2.3 rating/7 share among 18-49 viewers.

Right behind NBC was the finale of ABC's "Dancing With the Stars," which hit a 2.6/7 -- up a big 44% from the previous week's 1.8 rating. As with many TV shows, "Stars" was down 21% from last year's finale, which had a 3.3 rating -- the lowest-rated finale in the show’s history.

ABC came in second place to NBC for the night with a 2.1/6.

After these three shows came Fox's "So You Think You Can Dance?", which has just started up its summer run. It was at a 1.9/6 for a two-hour episode. Those numbers were at the same level as its premiere a week before. Fox averaged a 1.9/6 on the night, good for third place.

Univision came next a 1.4/4, followed by CBS, which has already moved into summer rerun mode for the night, coming in with an average 1.3/4. CBS will win the season among 18-49 viewers, for the first time in two decades.

Sister CBS network CW also went with reruns, landing at a 0.3/1 among 18-49 viewers.
