Comcast Launches LGBT-Focused Microsite

Xfinity-B

Comcast has launched a microsite within its on-demand hub focused on programming that appeals to the LGBT community. Xfinity.com/LGBT features TV content such as Fox’s “Glee” and HBO’s “Behind the Candelabra” and classic films such as “Rent” and “Cabaret.”

Much of the programming, as with Comcast's broader online portal, requires authentication. As a promotion, Comcast is offering digital cable customers free access to Here TV content for the first week of June.

The site also includes a newswire, photo collections and other content. The launch coincides with Pride Month, and Comcast said it will move beyond a link on the broader portal launched last year. Xfinity also has a microsite focused on Latino-oriented programming with a similar layout to the LGBT site.

A TV section of the broader Xfinity site includes a section tabbed “Bingeworthy Shows” as well as links to watch ESPN networks live.
