Wunderman Reorganizes, Names Samardzija Chief Analytics Officer

WPP’s Wunderman has created two new senior-level management posts, including a global chief analytics officer role that is being filled by Slavi Samardzija. The company has also named Caroline Worboys to head a new data and insights division covering the UK, Europe, Mideast and Africa.

The creation of the two posts follows the company’s broader reorganization earlier this year that put its nearly two dozen specialist agencies into four new operating divisions, while also adding a new regional North American presidency.

Samardzija is adding the new CAO duties to his current role as executive vice president of Wunderman’s Marketing Intelligence Group. He will remain based in New York and report to Gary Laben, who earlier was named president of Wunderman Data & Insights, one of the four new operating divisions created as part of the major reorganization back in March. Laben is also CEO of KBM Group, a data-focused unit within the Wunderman network.

Worboys will also retain her current responsibilities -- as managing director KBM Group UK -- while taking on her new role. In that capacity, she will work with regional and country managers to coordinate delivery of KBM Group data assets and data management expertise. She will remain based in London and will report to Wunderman UK CEO Mel Cruikshank, and for regional EMEA matters, to Laben.

Both Samardzija and Worboys will “stimulate our data and analytics specialists across the world to bring our clients the most insightful data management and customer intelligence,” stated Laben.
