Zap2It, Hollywood Mix Join Forces

Entertainment and celebrity news media outlet Zap2it is joining forces with a new TV show, "The Hollywood Mix," to cross-promote and share each other’s content, the Tribune-owned media outlets announced.

The promotional partnership includes a geotargeted advertising campaign for "The Hollywood Mix" on Zap2It, focusing on key entertainment news audience segments in the L.A. and Sacramento media markets. Zap2It will feature original video content from the new show, including breaking news and interviews.

It will also use the site’s Facebook and Twitter assets to engage entertainment and celebrity news fans and build awareness of the show.

In the other direction, the show will feature on-air segments drawing on Zap2it's “From Inside the Box” blog, including TV recaps, ratings, scheduling and casting news. The partners also plan joint coverage of major Hollywood events.

"The Hollywood Mix," set to debut June 10, is hosted by former "Good Day L.A." anchor Jillian Barberie and produced by KTLA entertainment news veterans. Programs include one-on-one interviews with celebrities and themed segments.

Barberie described it as lifestyle-focused entertainment programming with a reality TV sensibility, intended to give viewers the feeling of an inside perspective on show business. It is scheduled to air Monday through Friday at 5:30 p.m. Pacific Time on KTLA, and 6:30 p.m. on KTXL in Sacramento; both stations are owned by Tribune Co., which is the parent company of Zap2It.

Zap2It, launched in 2000, is a property of Tribune Media Services, an entertainment content unit of Tribune Co. which provides information about entertainment and related content to TV program guides and movie listings, among other services.
