Global Chief Of Staff Drakoulias Exits Draftfcb

Another senior executive has departed Interpublic Group’s Draftfcb. Global Chief of Staff Peter Drakoulias left the agency earlier this month, the agency has confirmed.

Drakoulias joined the agency in November 2011. At the time, the global chief of staff post was a new role. His focus was mergers and acquisitions and business development.

“I have great appreciation for my relationships at Draftcb and wish my colleagues every success,” stated Drakoulias. “As for my next step, whether it's been digital, mobile, branded entertainment, intellectual property or diversity and inclusion, I've always been fortunate to have been on the forefront of industry change and look forward to more of the same ahead."

Drakoulias reported directly to agency CEO Laurence Boschetto, who left Draft earlier this year as part of a succession plan that was announced in 2012. He now serves in a senior advisory role at IPG.

The CEO switch follows a series of changes at Draftfcb. In January, the agency’s media operation was shifted to IPG Mediabrands, where it reports to media agency Initiative. Also in January, the agency named Javier Campopiano chief creative officer at the shop’s New York office.

With Boschetto gone from the agency and his successor Carter Murray not due to arrive until September, the agency is headed by an interim office of the chairman that includes the agency’s global leadership. That's led by COO Neil Miller, who reports into IPG, a holding company rep said.

Before joining Draftfcb, Drakoulias was a consultant working with clients such as Motorola, Nextel and Boost Mobile. Prior to that, he was CEO at Rush Mobile and earlier, he was a partner at IPG’s Deutsch agency. He also founded TORCH, a non-profit that helps New York City high school kids get internships and other experience in the fields of communications and the arts.

Incoming CEO Murray was tapped from WPP’s Y&R, where he was North American CEO
