The Wall Street Journal says Google has approached media companies about licensing their content for an Internet TV service that would stream TV programming. Google has been rumored to be
involved in that so called Over the Top delivery plan before. Several other companies, including, Apple, Intel and Sony plan to offer such OTT services, delivering cable TV-style packages over
broadband connections
