British Invasion: m/SIX Comes To America

UK media shop m/SIX, a GroupM affiliate, has just expanded to the U.S.

The agency is a partnership between GroupM and creative shop CHI & Partners. GroupM provides media services while CHI brings creative capabilities to the alliance.

Today the agency is opening up its first North American outpost in New York and has appointed David Stopforth to run it as managing director. Stopforth will also oversee other North American offices as the agency continues to expand there. He will report to m/SIX Global CEO Jess Burley.

Burley cited Stopforth’s experience on both the client and agency sides of the business.  “Clients are challenged today by the complexity in communication channels and the need to always demonstrate ROI,” he said. “David can help our clients be more agile in overcoming these challenges.”

Stopforth most recently served as Group Strategy Director at Zenith Media in New York, where he led planning for clients including JPMorgan Chase Card Services, H&M North America, Delta Airlines and PUMA International AG.  He was also a key contributor to Liquid, a Zenith consultancy that developed insights and innovation across the agency’s client portfolio.

Before joining Zenith, Stopforth served as head of Media, Strategy and Operations at Reebok International, responsible for development and implementation of the sporting goods giant's Global Brand Marketing initiatives, global budgeting and go-to-market process.  The move to Reebok followed a four year stint at Adidas, where he managed campaigns for UEFA Euro 2004, Athens 2004 Summer Olympic Games, and FIFA World Cup 2006.
