StubHub Gains Naming Rights At FedEx Field

As professional sports stadiums look to attach brands to seemingly as many aspects as possible, FedEx Field will now have the StubHub Club Level seating area through 2018. The field is the home of the Washington Redskins.

StubHub, the online ticket market, had a previous partner role with the Redskins and holds a designation as an official ticket marketplace for FedEx field. Its deal includes signage at various points in the stadium.

Among other areas, FedEx Field -- which seats 85,000 -- has an Audi Club and Bud Light Party Pavilion.

The StubHub Club will offer a top-tier seating area with VIP entrances and loads of flat-screen TVs and other amenities. Fan kiosks will allow event attendees to create a “digital commemorative ticket” and share it via a social network. StubHub will also award four Dream Seats on the 50-yard line to customers at events.

With the NFL so popular on TV, the league has looked for ways to ensure that attendance remains robust, especially with ticket prices so high.

The deal follows StubHub replacing Home Depot as the top-line sponsor for a 27,000-seat stadium near Los Angeles in an arrangement with AEG. The StubHub Center is home to the Los Angeles Galaxy and Chivas USA of Major League Soccer.
