Nielsen//NetRatings: Kids Expand Online Horizons

The youngest Web surfers--children between the ages of 2 and 11--viewed 36 percent more Web pages in October 2004 than October 2003, according to data to be released today by Nielsen//NetRatings. Girls in that age group increasingly turned to instant messaging sites, while boys were drawn to entertainment sites, according to Nielsen//NetRatings. All Internet users also viewed more Web pages this year than last, but only by 2 percent.
