Clear Channel Recruits Kassan To Cover Advertising Week On WOR

Advertising Week is getting its own broadcast channel courtesy of Clear Channel Media and Entertainment, which has recruited media strategist Michael Kassan to provide commentary of industry events on New York City’s WOR 710 AM, with digital simulcasts at iHeartRadio.com and wor710.com.

Kassan, the founder, chairman and CEO of media advisory and business development firm MediaLink, will provide daily previews, reports, commentary, updates and interviews from some of the 200 events planned for Advertising Week, scheduled from Sept. 23-27 at multiple venues around the city.

The WOR Web site is also hosting a comprehensive listing of Advertising Week information.

Advertising Week has had its own radio coverage in previous years, but with different broadcast partners. From 2005-2007, CBS Radio stations provided coverage in partnership with the Radio Advertising Bureau via WADV Radio, wadv.com, a special streaming station that broadcast throughout the week with additional programming from other CBS stations. Clear Channel took over in 2009.

Never one to be shy during Advertising Week, Clear Channel Outdoor is also staging a publicity stunt in partnership with Hyperactivate and the Advertising Week committee. Their Amplify AWX campaign will place digital screens in each Advertising Week venue to inspire social media discussions, while broadcasting social media posts via Clear Channel Outdoor's Spectacolor billboard in Times Square.

The attendee who generates the most social sharing activity will be named “The Most Influential Person in Advertising” and receive 15 minutes of free space on the Times Square Spectacolor billboard.
