Juhl Joins Essence As NA CEO

Digital shop Essence has tapped Christian Juhl for the new role of North American CEO, effective immediately the agency confirmed Tuesday.

Juhl joins Essence from Publicis Groupe’s Razorfish, where he was most recently president of the  agency’s western region. Earlier, he managed national teams in media, business development and marketing during his 10-plus years at Razorfish.  Prior to that Juhl held senior roles at GE Capital. 

Juhl reports to Essence Founding Partner and global CEO Matt Isaacs. Commenting on the hire Isaacs said that Juhl would play a role in “building senior client relationships, driving new business and continuing our positive growth trajectory” in the North American region.

Essence, founded in London in 2005, launched its North American operations in 2010 and now has regional offices there in New York, Seattle and San Francisco. In addition to London the agency also has an office in Singapore. Clients include eBay, Walgreens and Google.

Separately, Essence said that Richard Mooney was being promoted North American  COO. Mooney will work closely with Mark Nancarrow, Global CFO and COO to align processes across all regions.
