Slacker Bows 6 Univision Stations

Slacker is bolstering its content offerings for Hispanic listeners with six new stations from Univision Radio, including five live streams of existing Univision radio stations and a sixth station produced exclusively for Slacker.

The five live streaming stations include LA 101.9, showcasing current regional Mexican hits; K-Love 107.5, L.A.’s Latin station featuring romantic ballads and pop hits; KQ-105, billed as the number one music station in Puerto Rico; Mix 98.3, a Miami hits station that also features Enrique Santos in the morning; and Recuerdo 106.5 in Houston, which true to its name (“I Remember”) plays current and vintage Latin hits.

The sixth station, Univision America on Slacker, features a selection of Hispanic-targeted content, including Univision on-air personalities Dr. Isabel, Fernando Espuelas and Maria Marin, all well-known Spanish-language talkers.

All six stations are available for Slacker Radio on smartphones, tablets, and dashboard systems, as well as online at www.slacker.com.

This isn’t Univision’s first digital radio partnership.

In September 2011, the Hispanic broadcaster struck a deal with Clear Channel Radio (now Clear Channel Entertainment and Media) bringing Univision programming to the latter’s iHeartRadio platform. The content-sharing deal brought programming from 70 Univision radio stations to iHeartRadio listeners via the Web and mobile devices.

On the broadcast side, in 2012 Univision launched a national, Spanish-language AM radio network featuring local, national and international news. The network, Univision America, includes AM stations in nine major Univision markets: Miami, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, McAllen, TX, El Paso, San Antonio, Las Vegas and Los Angeles
