CNN will be investing in a new series of unscripted shows by outside producers like “Anthony Bourdain’s Parts Unknown” as a way "to reduce its dependence on coverage of big breaking
news stories to attract viewers and advertisers," writes Alex Weprin. For example, if a Bourdain live special, "Live Bite," premiering this Sunday, does well, it could become a series of its own.
