McDonald's Tests Pick-Yer-Own Toppings

McDonald’s is running a beta where people can create a custom burger with an iPad. The company is testing the program in Laguna Niguel, Calif., and in Illinois. Diners can choose from 20 toppings and sauces like sharp white cheddar cheese, guacamole, caramelized onions, grilled mushrooms, applewood smoked bacon and creamy garlic sauce. The patty is the same one used on the Quarter Pounder, but it is “chargrilled-to-order,” McDonald’s said.
