NativeX, an ad technology provider for mobile games, is expected to this week announce the hiring of James Shanahan as its chief scientist and VP of data science. Shanahan was the founding chief scientist of Turn, a demand-side platform (DSP).

As the company name suggests, NativeX is focused on native ad targeting, specifically on mobile devices. The company is using predictive analytics for their targeting, which is where Shanahan comes into play.

Andy Johnson, CEO of NativeX, stated that "advertising technology is transforming before our eyes," much of it coming from what he called "Big Data science."

"We’re just scratching the surface of what’s possible with Big Data in mobile advertising,” Shanahan stated.

In addition to being the founding chief scientist at Turn, Shanahan was previously an executive director for AT&T.
